On a trip to California, I visited this beautiful mission in Carmel. It was founded in the 1790's by Fr. Junipero Serra. Although the front of the building is also very interesting, I actually liked this side view, highlighting the bell tower and dome of the basilica. The flowers were abundant and the time of day produced lovely shadows.
