Reflection

 SOLD
Evening light colors
reflect on the quiet water
Lovely time of day

This is a small piece, only 4 3/4" x 5 1/4", but it was fun to see how much variety of color I could encompass with it.  You know by now I love evening skies and especially their reflection in water.  It's a beautiful time of day to just be in the moment.
Painted on Arches watercolor paper with transparent watercolor.

Day's End

SOLD

Day's end drawing near
Colors mingle in the sky
A streak of salmon

The glorious rusty fall foliage is the inspiration for this watercolor landscape.  Along with that, at least in this area of the country, the fall and winter skies are spectacular.  It takes my breath away at times to see the intense colors and cloud formations in the evening sky.  I hope this encourages you to take some time to view the sunsets!  This painting is done on Arches watercolor paper and measures approximately 8 3/4" x 11 3/4".

View Across the Lake

Trees lit with orange
Clothed in Autumn's glory
View across the lake.

Looking out of my studio window the other day, I saw the late afternoon light hitting the trees with their orange foliage and it was very beautiful.  I decided to do this little painting based on that inspiration.  This painting depicts a little later time of day, but still with that lovely orange glow.

This painting is done on 140# Arches paper with transparent watercolor and it measures approximately 12" wide by 7.5 " high.

Garden Niche

 SOLD

I painted this scene with the intention of cropping it, but when it was finished was intrigued by the idea of making it a vignette.  Oh, alright, so my husband actually suggested the vignette format and you KNOW I hardly ever listen to those suggestions, but then I thought "why not?"  So let me know what YOU think.  The location this photo was taken in was a beautiful bed and breakfast in the small town of Sarlat in the south of France. It was just a lovely, sunny summer morning and breakfast was on the terrace.  This piece is cropped to 9.5 x 9.5 inches, painted on 300# Arches watercolor paper.

Alps in the distance
hillsides showing touch of Fall
Innsbruck Holiday

Crossing a bridge over the Inn River to enter the town of Innsbruck, I stopped to take this photo.
It was a cool, sunny morning with a little mist still hanging at the base of the mountains.  This watercolor, done on Arches 140# paper, is 8.5" x 11.75".

Sunflower Season

SOLD

 Warm yellow petals
Smiling coppery faces
Sunflower Season

I LOVE sunflowers and think they have so much personality.  Sometimes their round copper faces stare boldly and sometimes they turn shyly away.  Such a beautiful dance.

This watercolor is painted on 300# Arches paper.  It's done in a style of many, many transparent layers. It's approximately 8 x 9.5".
Hope you enjoy this painting!

The Beach Path

Between the grasses
the evening breeze whispers
Gulls circle slowly

This painting is of a beach on Cape Cod, although I must say I don't remember which one!  I really liked just the sliver of ocean peeking through at the top of the path, and if you can just imagine for a minute, remember the call of the gulls.

This painting is approximately 9 3/8 x 6 1/2 and is done on Lanaquarelle 140# watercolor paper.
