PUMPKINS AND APPLES

PUMPKINS AND APPLES is a large pastel, 16" x 16" painted on LaCarte paper.  It's a typical theme for this time of year, when both apples and pumpkins are in abundance and reminding us of Fall and Thanksgiving to come.

Fabulous Fall

It's hard to resist the combination of bright pumpkins and beautiful fall mums.  It was fun setting up this still life with a favorite pitcher outside on the grass strewn with some fallen leaves.  This is a 6" x 6" oil on canvas in a black floater frame.  Hope you enjoy this little painting as a symbol of a day in the Fall in New England.

Radishes

"Radishes" is a 8 x 8  original pastel painted from life.  A quick rinse brought up all the intense colors and highlights--I just had to paint this little bunch of radishes.  Sweet for a kitchen to add a pop of color.

Grazing

"Grazing" is a pastel, 11 x 13",  matted to 13 x 15" with an acid-free off-white mat and acid free black foam spacer mat.  The location is New Pond Farm in West Redding, Ct, a beautiful setting known for it's cheerful yellow and white buildings and lots of white fencing.  This little piece is for the animal lover, or great for a child's room.

First at the Beach

"First at the Beach" is an 8 x 10 pastel.  You can follow the beach path down to the water and see a lone umbrella and chairs set up--someone arrived early!  You will find this piece in my Etsy Shop and also through Daily Paintworks.  Thinking summer!

Birches in Winter

A wintery landscape can be a beautiful thing, especially when you know Spring is just around the corner.  The bushes and trees begin to have just a little bit of extra color so you know Spring is on the way.  This is an 8 x 10 pastel painting which shows, I hope, the last snowfall of the Winter!

Purple Shutters

"Purple Shutters" is an ink and wash in watercolor done on Arches 140# acid free paper.
It depicts one of the many romantic windows and window boxes found on some of the old, picturesque buildings in Europe.  I always love to see the vivid displays that are created with the patina of these old buildings as the backdrop.  This piece is 6.5 x 9.5".
