Snowy Field at Sunset
SOLD
With the extremely cold weather we're experiencing, I had to post this scene of the farm field adjacent to our home. I guess a trade off for the cold weather is the beautiful sunsets in winter. This is an oil on canvas, 11 x 14. There certainly is great beauty in all seasons, we just have to look for it.

Crimson Glow ~ Framed
Still in January organizing mode! This small-ish watercolor piece is being offered framed. It is not only double matted, but the mats are spaced apart by 1/8" to give the piece a real feeling of depth in the frame. The frame is a 1" rich dark brown wood, with subtle lighter shading on the inside and outside edges. The image area is 6.25" x 9", and the total dimension with the frame is 13 1/8" x 15 7/8".
The process for painting this piece is wet into wet and is done quickly and freely. It's Winsor and Newton watercolors on Arches paper. Enjoy!

Well, it's January and time to make some room in the studio for new work. This 8 x 10" oil painting of two red apples comes frame in lovely gold frame with blue/gray accents. There is a little glare in this photo due to the varnishing, but the background is a nice solid dark.

Laden Bough
SOLD
This watercolor painting is done in a vignette style with all edges of the paper being touched, but in varying amounts. It is a very loose and free painting, with lots of sketched in leaves left unpainted. Even the peaches have a soft, fuzzy look, with little detail. It was done very quickly and I liked the immediacy of it. It's approx. 15.5" high and 9.5" wide. Hope you enjoy this one!

Garden Niche II - Oil
SOLD
Garden Niche II is an oil painting from a beautiful spot in Sarlat, France, in the Dordogne Valley. It was a lovely sunny morning and breakfast was being served on the terrace of our bed and breakfast. I loved the shadows on the clay pot and the texture of the stone of this very old structure. The flowers were a bright spot of color set against the neutral stones. This is painted on a 10" x 10" canvas.
Hope it reminds you of a sunny summer morning!
